Representative players include all players involved in National, State, League and Association based representative games and associated activities. It also includes top up players and academy players representing AFL Clubs as well as League/Association Academies. All representative players however must firstly be a member of a registered community Club covered by the AFL National Risk Protection Programme.
Club coverage will follow individual players participating in representative games. This means that a club who has higher coverage than what has been purchased for the representative games, will be able to claim on the higher level of cover.
All participants who play in Representative Games at a National, State, League or Association level throughout Australia are automatically afforded the Platinum level of cover. This includes participation in game, training sessions and associated activities. A summary of the benefits can be found on page 3 of this form.
All participants who play in Representative Games at a National, State, League or Association level throughout Australia are automatically afforded the highest level of Quadriplegia / Paraplegia cover – $1,000,000.

Loss of Income Cover is optional and must be purchased separately. Loss of Income Cover provides reimbursement for either 80% of the injured person’s net weekly income or the maximum amount per week as purchased by the club/league – whichever is the lesser. Coverage is for a maximum of 52 weeks and a 14 day elimination period applies, unless you’re sick leave balance exceeds this, in which your sick leave balance becomes your excess period. Please note – coverage for Match Payments is different (refer to Page 7 of this form for further details).
